Who We Are
Virginia Herndon
Virginia Herndon, Ph.D. Virginia founded Herndon Company in 1999 . She has over 20 years experience providing corporate strategy and transactional advisory services to the pharmaceutical industry, in evaluating companies and their management for investment or acquisition, and in company origination. She recently co-founded Palisade Sciences, a start-up focused on the development of a vaccine for the prevention of Chlamydia. Virginia has provided business development and marketing services for a wide range of clients resulting in the establishment of multiple discovery-based corporate alliances. Previously, Virginia was Vice President of Scheer & Company, a biopharmaceutical consulting firm, where she was instrumental in the founding of three biotechnology companies (Viropharma, Esperion and Achillion) which ultimately became public. Virginia did her undergraduate work at the University of Michigan and has her PhD in Molecular Biology from Yale University.
Peter Lutes
Peter Lutes has over ten years experience in finance, executive administration, and operations of early-stage biotech companies. He has played significant roles in the creation and launch of several start-up companies. He has raised over $20 million from state resources and venture firms for early-stage companies. Peter was Senior Venture Officer at the New Jersey Economic Development Authority where he evaluated life sciences companies for nearly $30 million in investment and tax-based incentive programs. Earlier in his career, Mr. Lutes worked at Genentech and at an investment bank that brought over one dozen companies public. Peter has BA in Economics from the University of Massachusetts-Boston, and Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Pennsylvania.
